Chinese characters can be made up of radicals and other components, which can help convey different meanings. In this video series, international students explore their favorite Chinese characters through the radicals that make them special.

For Palestinian student Moy, it is the hand radical. "Every hands-on experience I take part in gives me a chance to connect with traditional Chinese culture," he said. For him, the hand radical is more than a symbol in Chinese characters. It is a way to touch, experience, and understand Chinese culture.
