On September 30,the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Huang Huikang, along with fiveassociates, paid a visit to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). On behalf of theChinese Embassy in Malaysia, Ambassador Huang first extended his sinceregreetings and best wishes to the first batch of new students from MainlandChina, and pledged that the Embassy would provide assistance and support to facilitatethe new students’ study and life in Malaysia.

During thismeeting with the student representatives, Ambassador Huang briefed them on the bilateralrelations and history of cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia, as wellas the evolution of the relationship between Xiamen University and Malaysia. Heencouraged the students to make the most of the top-range facilities at XMUM,be diligent in studies, carry forward the spirit of mutual respect, and enhancemutual understanding with their local fellow students. He also expressed hishope that the new students would become goodwill ambassadors for China in promotingthe friendship between their motherland and their host country.

Later, AmbassadorHuang and his associates visited the students’ residence hall and inquiredabout their study and life. After hearing from students, Ambassador Huangencouraged them to make quick adjustment to the new environment and engage instudies with good health and high spirits.

She added that she appreciated Dr.Huang’s high expectations for them. She stated that she and her fellow studentswere quickly adapting to their new campus life in Malaysia and the all-Englishteaching environment at the University.
